![]() Trying to retarget different body parts plays a stupid backflip animation before actually firing your ODM. The combat feels even more janky than before. I've tried a Leadership build, but the amount of power you loose doesn't justify how terrible the AI is. Some squad memebers are useless as their ability is only useful in certain situations (heal/flash/capture) and like I said they don't bother attacking or deal any significant damage. Any squad members that do decide to attack on their own accord deal little to no damage and might aswell not have bothered. I would go so far as to say that your squad is even more useless than before, they never seem attack unless you order them to because they've removed the Focus/Guard/Fan Out commands and depending on your build will do barely any damage, then they go on a long cooldown. Trying to remember which squad members plays which animation can be irritating, a seperate icon to differentiate the 2 would be extremely helpful during the heat of battle. The buddy system doesn't tell you which attack they will make, there's one icon (crossed swords) that either plays a double nape strike or double arm strike animation ultimatly leading to an accidental kill when I wanted materials or a non kill on a tough titan. The targeting system seems worse as there's no HUD to tell you which body part you're targeting, so the small, red targeting indicator is hard to spot when your circling round a moving titan. The HUD is so much smaller, and is harder to see that your gas/blades are running low. They decided to add a whole RPG system and much more content to the game but in doing so they have dumbed down the most important part of the game: the battles. ![]() It just feels a bit forced and can be really tedious at times. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy watching the cutscenes as it the lore and character devleopment is really interesting to me. The whole RPG system makes me feel like I'm forced to speak to everyone so I can level up, and can be very time consuming after each battle when you need to watch 3-5 cutscnes that are around 3 minutes long.
